Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory at Columbia UniversityThe Mathematical and Statistical Analysis of Accelerating Sea Level in New York City – Conducted research under Dr. James Davis concerning sea level rise and how to create accurate models describing future trends using computer science, earth science, and mathematics. Submission to various science competitions including Regeneron and LISEF.
Magnetic Resonance Research Center at Yale UniversityUsing fMRI Connectivity to Diagnose Adolescents with ADHD – Conducted computer science and neuroscience research under Dr. Dustin Scheinost using MATLAB.
Long Island Scientific Research Association (LISRA)The Effect of Tree Tea Oil on Living Cells – Gained extensive preparatory lab experience including: lab skills training, lab etiquette, science journal exploration, individual experiment/presentation.

Regeneron Science Talent Search Competition Semifinalist (2017) – Chosen as one of 300 semifinalists named as Regeneron STS Scholars after submitting my research paper “Analyzing the Accuracy of Sea Level Predictability at Various Temporal Scales.” Awarded $2,500.
National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist, Finalist (2017) – Awarded to highest scoring entrants in each state on PSAT exam. Chosen as one of 7,500 finalists to be granted a scholarship. Awarded $2,500 for becoming a finalist.
2018 Coca-Cola Scholarship Semifinalist –  Selected as a Semifinalist for the Coca-Cola Scholars Program. Chosen from among nearly 150,000 applicants due to outstanding leadership, academic achievements, and dedication to the community.
AP National Scholar (2017) – Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.
National Competition for Women in Technology (NCWIT) (2016-2017)Aspirations in Computing Regional Winner (11), National Honorable Mention (12) – Awarded for excelling in STEM field of computer science and initiative to promote computer science among young women. Applied for and received $3,300 grant three times. Award used to fund XX Coders Summer 2017, 2017 school year, and 2018 current school year.

Community Service

XX Coders Summer Initiative (2016- present) – Director and Founder – Created free coding program for 20 high school girls in local underserved community. Developed curriculum, recruited/taught instructors, and arranged field trip to Google Headquarters. Raised over $20,000 for program expenses. Ongoing program through school year and future summers. Featured on News 12 and multiple online/print publications.
Special Education PTA (SEPTA) Tutor (2016-2017) – Program Initiator / Volunteer Tutor for elementary special needs students learning computer science.
Samarthanam USA, Inc. (2014-2017) – USA Youth Ambassador – Coordinates programs including local fundraisers and MC for dance/singing performances on Long Island. Recruited American students and serves as liaison for trip to Bangalore headquarters to volunteer as English tutors.
Starflower Experiences Earth Rangers (2014-2017) – Head Volunteer
Milton Olive Middle School – Mentored students by initiating recycling project and creating school garden. Educated participants about importance of saving the environment. Raised awareness of endangered animals.
Huntington Youth Bureau (2016-2017) – Youth Board Representative – One of two students from town of Huntington selected as board representative. Our goal was to promote growth, development, and well-being of youth through programs/services addressing the needs of the community.
School Supply Drive | Wyandanch Union Free School District (2016-2018) – Head Volunteer – Raised money to purchase $500 worth of school supplies each year. Received two laptops as donations through support of the Rotary Club of Jericho Sunrise. Responsible for Wyandanch School District selection as recipient.
My Space My Place Blind Coding Camp | Microsoft New England Research & Development Center (NERD) (2016) – Volunteer Intern – Taught Python and handicap accessibilities on technology, providing unique perspective on coding world. Blind coders teach blind students at program.
